Living in a world determined by patterns and symbols, what we perceive is not reality itself but a "simulacrum" world detached from reality. Jean Baudrillard, in the third stage of his "simulacra triad," proposed that through the immense filter of the cultural industry, mechanically reproduced commercial images become simulacra that drift away from their original copies and tend toward infinite replication. The core characteristic of postmodern culture is the "implosion" of the boundary between simulacra and reality. Through the use of mixed media, the artist repeats the process of simulacra, employing a large number of ready-mades and signs, and uses the new images produced by the implosion of this hyperreal meta-culture as a means to present a "hyperreality."
